The GOLDEN RING is a symbolical circle of historical towns to the northeast from Moscow (the region known as Zalesye).  
These ancient towns represent more than 1000 years of Russian history depicted in wood and stone. Each of the "golden" city once played a significant and important role in the formation of Russian Orthodox Church and Russian history. The towns have been called "open air museums" and feature unique monuments of Russian architecture of the 12th-18th centuries, including Kremlins, Monasteries, Cathedrals, and churches.
