EU and Russia are discussing about Visa-free Travel for Sochi Olympics 2014. 19.06.2012 18:01

Moscow - Russia and the European Union may enact visa-free travel by 2014.

Russian Permanent Representative to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov has recently said at the State Duma: "Russia stands for the soonest endorsement of a visa-free regime for short-term travels".

Russia handed over a draft agreement on a visa-free regime for short-term trips at the Russia-EU summit in Rostov-on-Don in 2010 and then the sides discussed the issue closer at the Russia-EU summit in Brussels last December.

The Sochi Olympics in 2014 could be a right time to cancel the visa regime between Russia and the EU completely or at least for the duration of the games.
